通常的温度计,其构造为玻璃质的水银球体与其上升表竿。在表竿刻度计温的原理上,其表竿与球体须同样浸没于所量取之物质内,所计度数方能正确;简言之即竿体和球体须在同一温度下测量之。但事实上倘表竿与球体全部没入时而无法显续其上下度数,势必有一部表竿露出所量物质之外;其露出表竿本身必较没入部分有较高或较低温度。如欲读取正确温度须于通常温度计所观察之度数外,加以必要的表竿校正数字调整之。
The usual thermometer, which is constructed of vitreous mercury spheres and their rise table. However, in fact, if the watch sticks and the ball are all invaded, they will not be able to continue to ascend and descend. There is bound to be a watch pole exposing the quantity of the material to be displayed; the exposed pole itself must have a higher or lower temperature than the inscribed part. To read the correct temperature must be observed in the usual thermometer to the degree, with the necessary table rod correction figures adjusted.
