宋庄位于河南唐河支流清水河的上游,控制面积44平方公里。1965年7月9日22时至10日4时,清水河流域平均暴雨300毫米,暴雨中心468毫米。宋庄站水位相应猛涨,至10日2时21分出现最高水位130.72米,超过观测以来最高水位的4.31米(1960年最高水位126.41米),超过测流设备的设计标准1.72米。当时,自记水位井倒坍,测流过河缆索浸没于急流之中,无法操纵;浮标投掷缆索亦被洪水冲跨,暴风骤雨浇熄了夜明浮标。此次洪水流量无法施测,只得打临时水尺桩,观读水位,事后补测了洪水迹比降和大断面。这次洪水刚过,7月14日1时45分又发生了一次较大的洪水,洪峰水位128.00米。这一洪岭的测流次数较多,在127.69米水位级以下都有测点。故1965年的水位~流量关系曲线需要延长的幅度有3.03米。相当于实测水位变幅的50%。下面谈谈我们估算这次洪水的最大流量的方法。
