科举制度是中国封建社会中后期选拔官吏的一种社会性考选活动,设置专门的考场,则是科举考试发展到一定阶段的产物。江南贡院的形成和发展处处凝聚着科举的缩影,亦对举子产生了诸多方面的影响。
The imperial examination system is a social selection activity of selecting officials in the late feudal society in China. Setting up a special examination room is the product of the development of the imperial examination at a certain stage. The formation and development of Jiangnan Gongyuan epitomizes the microcosm of the imperial examinations and exerts a great influence on the move.
