安全卫生水的普及关系到人民群众的身体健康,是实现“2000年人人享有卫生保健”的重要指标,几年来海门县切实加强对农村改水工作的领导,充分发动群众拓宽渠道,多方筹集改水资金,加快农村改水进程,改水的速度和实绩均列全省前茅。到1992年底,我县共打生活饮用深井118口,兴建地面水厂3个,各乡镇都有乡级水厂,延伸大小管网3000多公里,总投资6000多万元,全县总受益人口50多万,约占全县总人口的50％,大大改善了人民群众的饮水条件,有效地控制了肠道传染病的发病率,促进了我县农村经济和社会事业的发展。我们的主要做法是:
