October 30, 2014 The biocidal actives and their product classes listed in the European Commission’s authorization statutes have passed the assessment and will enter into force on October 30. The exclusion of nano-active substances in the regulation, which is still a major industry concern, 20 days after the regulation was released, the industry has started to apply for substances not included in the plan. Currently there are only two substances, and the nanostructures of silver adsorbed on silica and silica are supported in the assessment plan. Nano-morphologies for all other combinations of substances / product categories are excluded, and only if stakeholders notify ECHA within 12 months of their intention to support these
