澶渊之盟前后,东亚政治格局呈现出新的发展态势。面对新的政治环境,宋朝不得不收起继承盛唐光荣的雄心,放下“天朝大国”的架子。对高丽,基本上放弃了宋朝初年的强化控制政策,转而推行一种新的外交方略,既不介入辽丽之间的战争冲突,又对高丽来使热情款待,极尽优礼,很好地维护了宋辽之间的安定和平,又为日后发展宋丽关系留有余地,展示了成熟的外交技巧。
Before and after the Qiong Yuan League, the political pattern in East Asia showed a new trend of development. In the face of the new political environment, the Song Dynasty had to retract the ambition to inherit the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty and put aside the shelf of “great country in heaven”. For Goryeo, it basically gave up the enhanced control policy in the early Song dynasty and turned to a new diplomatic strategy. It not only involved in the war conflict between Liao and Li, but also made hospitality glorious to Korea. Well maintained peace and stability between the Song and Liao, and left room for the future development of the Song and Li relations and demonstrated mature diplomatic skills.
