樊粹庭。又名樊郁,著名豫剧作家、戏剧艺术活动家。他早年就酷爱戏剧艺术事业,大学毕业后曾在旧时代任河南省教育厅社会推广部主任。他蔑视世俗偏见,毅然弃职从艺,创建了“狮吼豫剧团”。平生虽几经坎坷周折濒临困境,但却锲而不舍地为豫剧事业顽强拼搏。他博览群艺,自编自导;激励抗日,宣传爱国,起到过积极的社会作用。他一生编写了六十多个剧本,培养一批豫剧优秀学员,被群众誉称为“樊戏”。较有影响的一批剧目如《涤耻血》、

Fan Qu Ting. Also known as Fan Yu, a famous opera writer, drama activist. He loved theater art career early in his career. After graduating from college, he served as director of social promotion department of Henan Provincial Department of Education in his old time. He defied mundane prejudices and resolutely abandoned his art, creating “Lion Rope Opera Troupe.” Even though many ups and downs after hardships and downturn, but perseverance tenacious struggle for the cause of the opera.
