锉刀、搓丝板、滚丝模等工具刃口极薄,热处理时多采用盐浴炉加热,尽管对盐浴炉进行了认真的脱氧处理,还可能给薄的刃口带来脱碳或贫碳的缺陷,直接影响工具的使用寿命。如在中性盐浴中脱氧后加入少量如“603渗碳剂”之类的还原性介质,即可确保刃口质量。我们曾对9SiCr搓丝板做过生产验证避免了刃口脱碳。但603渗碳剂的加入量要恰到好处,太少效果不明显,太多又会造成刃口增碳,使脆性增加,特别对高速钢刀具更应谨慎从事。
