去年冬,正当纪念抗日战争胜利五十周年之际,我们在不到三个月的时间里,两次访问增城市革命老区——永和镇。在抗日战争时期,永和由于地处日冠侵略军在华南的大本营——广州的外围,战略地位十分重要。因而屡遭日、伪军的搔扰和扫荡,永和禾塱、石迳等地的革命群众英勇抗敌,作出过重大的贡献。仅以1942年春黄旗山战斗为例,当时十倍于我的日、伪军把增从番独立大队围困在黄旗山上,激战了一天,抗日游击队终于在永和老区群众的掩护和支持下,在傍晚时分终于把日、伪军击退,死伤敌数十人,取得战斗的重大胜利。随后,东江纵队第四支队,在地方党的协同下,建立了永和区抗日民主政
Last winter, on the occasion of the commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, we visited Yongze, the old revolutionary base area in the city twice, in less than three months. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, Yonghe was strategically placed in the outer periphery of Guangzhou, the base of the Japanese invaders in southern China. As a result, the revolutionary masses such as Japan, the harassment and mopping up of the puppet troops and the revolutionary masses in Ye Wo Wo and Shek Kip have made major contributions. Only the battle of the Yellow Flag Hill in 1942 was taken as an example. Ten times as many as I was at that time, the puppet troops were besieged by the Fan Independence Battalion on the Huangqi Mountain. After a fierce day of fighting, the anti-Japanese guerrillas finally found their way through the screenings and support of the masses in Yonghe Old Quarter. In the evening, finally, Japan and the puppet troops were repelled and dozens of people were killed and wounded. They achieved a major victory in the battle. Subsequently, the Fourth Detachment of the Dongjiang Column, under the cooperation of the local parties, established the Anti-Japanese Democratic Government in Yonghe District
