1978—1980年作者以杂交水稻汕优2号和四优2号为供试材料,常规品种缸410、大家伙和三磅70萝为对照。采用盆栽与大田相结合的试验方法,于2/0、4/0、6/0、8/0、10/0、12/0、16/0等叶期、乳熟期、黄熟期和完熟期测定“浮根”的形成、茎伤流强度、根体积、根干重、发根力等。主要结果如下:1.杂交水稻汕优2号和四优2号的根粗、根系体积、根系干重和水层灌溉条件下的“浮根”量都大于常规品种红410、大家伙。但其根系干重和根粗小于三磅70萝。乳熟期观察汕优2号、四优2号和三磅70萝有五级根,而红410和大家伙只有三级根。2.杂交水稻汕优2号和四优2号的最大根干重、最大伤流强度和最大发根力分别出现于黄熟期和14/0叶期。然而,最大发根日增长量则出现于分蘖盛期,接着出现伤流强度日增长量第一高峰,一直延续至最高分蘖期。无效分蘖开始死亡至孕穗期为最大根干重日增长量,伤流强度日增长量第二高峰则出现于黄熟期。3.4/0、6/0、8/0叶期剪根,有效穗数显著减少。12/0叶期剪根则严重影响每穗粒数和穗实粒数,16/0叶期剪根,结实率明显降低。4.多叉秧的根系大于多本秧,前期水层灌溉、中期晒田、后期湿润的根系活力大。
