决定人一生事业走向的,往往就是自己清楚的或不太清楚的爱好、天份和机遇,对米博华来说是这样。他说自己干上职业评论员,是个偶然,但也不完全是偶然,因为打小他就有两大爱好:一是朗诵,二是喜欢看好的政论文章。 1970年,在天津一中的一个教室里,一个学生站在讲台上高声朗读人民日报1970年元旦社论《迎接伟大的七十年代》。没人料到,这个当年念社论的学生,会成为人民日报2001年新世纪元旦社论的执笔者。除了朗读,他还喜欢看好的政论文章,不光念,还要大段大段地抄,作笔记,《马恩选集》四卷,他在初中就读完了,当时书少,也爱看。 他的父母都是干新闻的,姐姐也在报社工作。上学的时候,米博华常替父母抄稿子,因此对编稿、写稿一点儿不陌生。1978年,他由河北团省委调入中国青年报。在中国青年报,他在科教部、经济部、总编室工作过,最后落在评论部。先当记者采访,后干上评论。
