At Dagang, Tianjin, China, Clariant has opened a new dye production plant to support the thriving regional market. The plant, which was put into production by the end of 2011, is a joint venture between Clariant and Tianjin Bohai Chemical Plant, costing 120 million yuan (14.9 million euros). In another news, Clariant recently started an innovation center in Frankfurt, Germany. The new plant in Dagang will utilize state-of-the-art technology to produce liquid and solid dye formulations for coating, plastics and printing industries, consumer products and industrial-specific devices. Located in the Bohai Fine Chemical Industrial Park, the new plant covers an area of 13,000 m2 and is equipped with 16 production lines and a warehouse, several laboratories and office space.
