冰冻外科是使用0℃以下的低温治疗某些疾病的技术。Arnott (1851)首先用盐和冰作冷凝剂。治疗表浅组织的癌肿。在耳鼻喉科Cahan (1961)首先试用冰冻外科切除狗的扁桃体,得到予期的效果,此后,Work (1964)用于鼻咽部纤维血管瘤,Bluestone (1966)用于止鼻血,House (1966)用于治疗美尼尔氏病,Holden (1967)用于治疗头颈部的恶性肿瘤。近来国内外广泛采用冰冻外科技术,积累了不少经验和体会,现仅将冰冻器械的种类、机制、组织反应与在耳鼻咽喉科临床的应用综述如下:
