In 2007, “Streaming Media” - a crappy concept broke into the field of Chinese photojournalism. Because of the problem of language translation, the original Multimedia was promoted as a metaphysical new concept, which was even deliberately interpreted as a “photo + music” slideshow or as a video. In 2008, the share of advertising in the U.S. press dropped at a double-fold rate, and photojournalists were extensively laid off. Newspapers such as The Dallas Morning News have started training journalists from static journalists in the past to all-around journalists (multimedia journalists): They can fight alone and make a variety of news products suitable for websites and newspapers. However, the crux of the newspaper industry is not news editing, but the profit model of advertising. Under the impact of the Internet, the profitability of newspapers has been declining.
