Sheyang County is located in the coastal area of northern Jiangsu Province and is an economically underdeveloped agricultural county. Understanding the classification of death causes of residents in the region is an important basis for formulating disease prevention and control plans. In May 1998, the cause of death was investigated in the whole county.
