儿女情与英雄气,历来易被人看作是对立的两极,似乎凡儿女情长者,必英雄气短,英雄气壮者,必儿女情薄。鲁迅先生则大不以为然,曾有诗句云:“无情未必真豪杰,怜子如何不丈夫。”理直气壮地把这两者联成一体。《秋瑾》一片的编导深明其中三味,既用粗线条勾勒了秋瑾立志报国、弃家出走的英雄气,又以细腻的手法表现了她遥忆幼子、慈母情重的儿女情,从而使得秋瑾这一形象既具有粗犷的英雄气概,又饱含着丰富的感情内涵。这样处理的结果,非但没有削弱秋瑾的女丈夫气魄,反倒使观众在秋瑾怜子的情怀中,更体味到了她的英雄本色。较之有些“不食人间烟火,断绝七情六欲”的“英雄”来,更可信、可佩、可叹!
