In early 1990, the leaders of Sichuan Province and Chengdu Municipality decided to found Chengdu high technology and economy development zone, which became one of the first 27 zones announced by the State Council in 1991. Now, nearly 500 domestic and foreign enterprises came here to start business. It is called “Sichuan’s Silieon Valley” by the local people.
