WIN95/98通过“拨号网络”建立TCP/IP的远程连接,访问INTERNET.INTRANET 或 RAS(Remote Access Service),通过安装“拨号网络服务器”(WIN98已直接提供支持)还可以在两台计算机间建立拨号连接访问。远程用户与拨入服务器间利用MODEM等设备通过PSTN进行物理连接,用户根据ISP或网络管理员提供的服务器IP地址、电话号码等信息,按照WIN95/WIN98的“我的电脑”/“拨号网络”/“建立新连接”向导,很容易地完成“拨号网络”的设置。在需要远程访问时通过电话线建立网络连接,不需要时断开连接。普通用户访问INTERNET多用这种方式。
