杜威的实用主义教育思想的引进对中国的教育制度、教材编写产生一定的影响,特别是其思想对近代小学语文教育产生了巨大影响。尤其值得注意的是,他在《教育哲学》中提出儿童本位教育,提倡以“儿童为中心”。在这样的背景下民国小学语文教材的编制多体现儿童本位的思想。其中最具代表性的当属叶圣陶先生编写,丰子恺先生绘画和书写的《开明国语课本》。
The introduction of John Dewey’s pragmatic education has an impact on China’s education system and textbook compilation, especially his thought has had a tremendous impact on Chinese education in modern primary schools.
