玉门关,又名小方盘城,位于敦煌城西北80公里的戈壁滩上,是丝绸之路必经的关隘。现存城垣完整,呈方形,东西长24米,南北宽26.4米,残垣高9.7米,全为黄胶土夯筑而成,面积为633平方米,西、北墙各开一门。城北坡下有东西大车道,是历史上中原和西域诸国来往过乘及邮驿之路。北望长城,犹如龙游瀚海,俯仰关外,大地苍茫,人迹罕至,故唐诗人王之涣有“春风不度玉门关”之句。近有媒体报道:玉门关,这座丝绸之路上的重要关隘曾
