归纳于向溟的艺术似乎是困难的,因为他的创作手段涉及雕塑、装置、绘画、摄影、话剧,他的艺术行动涉及多种文化活动和艺术机构的组织与策划,包括文案的撰写。最近,他更是跨界去北京大学攻读人类学。这些看似不甚相似的混搭甚至跨界的行为和实践,既为清晰地了解他提供了障碍,同时又为概括他在视觉艺术创作上的特点,提供了方向。换句话说,有什么样的人生,就有什么样的艺术。这一点,对于向溟来说尤其贴切。
The art of induction into the sea seems to be difficult because his methods of creation involve sculpture, installation, painting, photography, drama and his artistic actions involve the organization and planning of various cultural activities and arts institutions, including the writing of texts. Recently, he went to Peking University to study anthropology. These seemingly alike mashups and even cross-border behaviors and practices provide both a clear impetus for understanding him and a generalization of his character in visual art. In other words, what kind of life, there is what kind of art. This is particularly appropriate to the sea.
