太极图是气功科学的基石。本文作者从《周髀算经》一书中发现了我们祖先利用圭表测量日影长度的观测记录,并根据这份历史记录作出了太极图,从而得出,太极图是我们古代天文观测的产物,是我们祖先天文观测实验的结果这一结论。接着,作者在前人观测实验的基础上通过理想实验和数学分析,发现了太极图的数学规律,太极图可以用三角函数来描述。三角函数具有二象性,其一是开放波浪性,可以用三角函数图象来描述,其二是封闭循环性,可以用太极图图象来描述,因此,太极图图象和三角函数图象统一在三角函数之中,太极图图象和三角函数图象是一对同胞兄弟,二者具有同等重要的科学地位,具有十分普遍的科学意义。 太极图的发现与完善不是偶然的。它是中华民族科学文化发现的产物。从勾股定理到太极图是第一次科学发现,从太极图到三角函数是第二次发现。中华民族世代相传,经过五千年的观察,实验和研究,终于完成了太极图的认识过程,这是人类认识史上的一个奇迹!
