我们正处在历史发展的重要时刻。人类即将进入新的世纪,迎接又一个千年的新的曙光。我们的人民共和国即将迎来它的五十年诞辰,开始走上下一个五十年的辉煌历程。 纵观历经沧桑的过去,展望充满希望的未来,我们从中可以吸取继往开来的丰富经验和巨大动力。 我们要感谢中华民族的先人们,他们在遥远的古代,创造了灿烂的中华文明,为人类进步作出了不可磨灭的贡献。
We are at an important moment of historical development. Mankind is about to enter a new century and welcome the new dawn of another millennium. Our People’s Republic is about to usher in its 50-year birthday and embark on the brilliant journey of the next 50 years. Throughout the vicissitudes of the past and looking forward to a promising future, we can learn from the rich experience and great motivation.
