1991年,内地18家省级电视台联合拍摄《中国当代文化名人录》,要拍钱钟书时,被他婉拒了。有人告诉他,拍了会得到一笔酬金。钱钟书淡淡一笑说:“我姓了一辈子‘钱’了,难道还迷信这东西吗?”
In 1991, 18 provincial-level television stations in the Mainland jointly shot “Who’s Who of Contemporary Chinese Culture” and asked him to polish Qian Zhongshu when he declined. Someone told him that he would get a fee when he got it. Qian Zhongshu a faint smile said: “My name is a lifetime money, and also superstition this thing?”
