今年,湖北省艾滋病防治工作的主要目标是:阻断医源性传播,切断母婴传播,遏制经性接触传播;检测高危人群20万人;对所有艾滋病患者提供抗病毒治疗,对艾滋病病毒感染者免费提供抗机会性感染预防药物;对农民中的艾滋病患者和城镇贫困艾滋病患者实行免费抗病毒治疗;对家庭困难的艾兹病病毒感染者和患者以及所有艾滋孤儿、艾滋孤老实行救助。
