Carcinoid tumors originate from embryonic neural crest Kulschitsky cells and are found in almost all organs of the human body, but are more common in the gastrointestinal tract. The authors intend to evaluate the diagnostic value of three-phase spiral CT in the plain scan, hepatic arterial phase (HAP), and portal vein phase (PVP) versus liver carcinoid metastases. The author performed a three-phase spiral CT scan of 58 patients suspected of carcinoid cancer between January 1, 1995 and October 1, 1996.
