鄂温克族人口较少,据1982年全国第三次人口普查统计,全国的鄂温克族共19,343人,鄂温克自治旗居住着6,455人,占全国鄂温克族人口的33.37％,多数以牧业为生,饮食以奶食和牛羊肉为主。为了了解鄂温克族儿童的生长发育状况,以便今后更好地开展卫生保健和教育工作,为提高少数民族儿童的健康素质提供科学的资料,我们于1982年6—7月间对该旗的鄂温克族儿童进行了生长发育、智力和疾病情况的综合调查,现将形态发育的四项指标—身高、体重、坐高和胸围的调查结果报告如下;
