Information on the design, development and production of the Soviet strategic missiles is generally not available from public sources. The Soviet Union seldom posts such information; occasionally reports on a few key figures, but seldom shows their role in the development of intercontinental ballistic missiles and submarine-launched ballistic missiles. The individual details that have been made public are often questions about the role of individuals or organizations in the Soviet space program. This article is based on material published by the Soviet Union and materials sporadically published by Western Defense agencies.
