草鱼出血病是草鱼鱼种阶段危害最大的传染性疾病,流行广,发病率和死亡率都较高。该病通常以3种症状出现。 一是红肌肉型 其特点是病鱼外表没有明显的出血症状,或仅表现轻微出血,但肌肉明显充血,往往全身肌肉都呈红色,有些病鱼因鳃瓣严重失血而出现“白鳃”。10厘米以下的病鱼对着阳光或灯光透视,可见皮下充血;10厘米以上的病鱼剥除皮肤后,肌肉有点状充血或斑块状淤血,严重者全身的肌肉充血呈鲜红色。这种类型多在10厘米上下的小草鱼中出现。
