随着我国3G移动通信网络牌照发放的日益临近,各大运营商及相关部门都在积极准备3G网络的相关工作。了解国外3G网络的运营模式,认真研究一下这些先行者的成败得失,对我国颁发3G牌照、部署3G网络、开展3G业务,既有重要的借鉴作用,也可以为国内电信业的发展提供新的思路。国外开通3G网络的国家目前主要集中在欧洲、亚洲的日本和韩国、北美洲的美国。韩国和日本的移动运营商在部署3G方面进展较快,不但已经开放了3G网络,而且还以此为基础提供了丰富的3G数据业务。欧洲移动运营商部署3G的进度则比预期缓慢,不仅3G牌照发放失误,而且在商用过程中也受到了来自技术、发展方向等多种因素的困扰,但整体上欧洲的3G目前正处于理性的、健康的发展过程中。美国主要的运营商在3G演进的道路上也迈出了关键的一步,3G发展在世界上也处于相对领先的地位。其本期专题得到了信息产业部电信研究院相关专家的大力帮助,在此向他们表示真诚的感谢!
