Advanced practice nursing (APN) is considered not only as a set of knowledge and skills but also as a concept.It is a powerful idea:APN is the patient-focused application of an expanded range of competencies to improve health outcomes for individuals and populations in a specialized clinical area of the larger discipline of nursing [1].The concept of APN could provide a stable core understanding for all APN roles, it could promote consistency in practice that can help others to understand what this level of nursing entails, and it could advance the achievement of valueadded patient outcomes and improvement in health care delivery process.
