The important speech made by General Secretary Hu Jintao on the inspection conducted by the People’s Daily on June 20 put forward specific requirements on improving the guidance capacity of public opinion, which is a powerful ideological weapon and program of action for our work in public information. We must conscientiously study and earnestly put more emphasis on improving the capacity of guidance in public opinion so that we can make every effort to keep the current news propaganda work done.
