中国书法长期发展、繁荣的一个重要基础便是实用性与艺术性的完美结合。书信作为文人交流沟通的一种传统方式,在具有史料价值的同时也具有艺术审美价值。而如今随着书法实用性的退化,书信的随性和真情流露已不复从前。陈凤桐先生于书斋--竹兰轩中翻阅几十年来积累的大量信件:从周汝昌先生致陈凤桐的书信中仍可感受到学者的胸襟和修养,而陈凤桐先生写《为周汝昌先生献上一箩栀花》一文以怀念已逝的周汝昌先生;整理出部分颇具书法意趣的信封,实不亚于一幅精心创作的书法作品,又撰写《信封收藏拾趣》。现本刊将这两篇文章辑为《竹兰轩随笔》刊登以飨读者。
