在济宁市的嘉祥县武梁祠藏有闻名中外的汉代石刻造像,其西壁为首的是这样一幅:两个怪人,人身蛇尾,两尾相交,一人持规,一人执矩。这个持规者便是上古补天的女蜗,执矩的就是中华始祖伏羲。画像左边的隔栏上有题字曰“伏羲仓精,初造王业,画卦结绳,以理海内”。这四句一是说他的身份,二是说他的地位,三是说他的业绩,四是说他管辖的范围。这个画像石非同一般。今天来看,这两个形象或许并不太美,但相传伏羲女娲兄妹为婚繁衍人类成为中华始祖,这一方石刻就是这两位中华始祖的画像。济宁地势东高西低,泗河源于东部鲁中山区,向西流入曲阜、兖州突然左转而南下进入南四湖。上古此湖原是一片低洼平原。这条泗河就是穿过平原南下
