刘少奇同志是伟大的马克思主义者和无产阶级革命家,是中国共产党和中华人民共和国的主要领导人之一。1921年,他就加入了刚刚创立的中国共产党,是我党最早的党员之一。解放前,他曾任中华全国总工会副委员长、中共满洲省委书记、中共中央委员、中共中央政治局委员、全国总工会党团书记、中共中央中原局书记、中共中央华中局书记、中共中央书记处书记和军委副主席等职。共和国成立后,历任中共中央副主席、中央人民政府副主席、军委副主席、全国总工会名誉主席、全国人大常委会委员长、中华人民共和国主席兼国防委员会主席等职。1966年“文化大革命”开始后,受到错误批判,并遭到林彪、江青两个反革命集团的蓄意诬陷和残酷迫害,1969年11月12日在河南开封逝世。1980年党的十一届五中全会为他恢复了名誉。今年11月24日,适值刘少奇同志百年诞辰,本刊特发表《刘少奇在上海的革命岁月》、《少奇同志与我们在一起》和《王光正忆刘少奇同志》三文,以深切缅怀他的丰功伟绩。
Comrade Liu Shaoqi is a great Marxist and proletarian revolutionary and is one of the major leaders of the Chinese Communist Party and the People’s Republic of China. In 1921, he joined the newly founded Communist Party of China, one of our party’s earliest party members. Before the liberation, he served as vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, secretary of the CPC Manchuria Provincial Committee, member of the CPC Central Committee, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, secretary of the Communist Youth League CPC Central Committee Secretary of the Central Plains CPC Central Committee Secretary of CPC Central Committee, CPC Central Committee Secretary of the Secretariat and Vice Chairman of the CMC. After the founding of the Republic, he served successively as Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Vice Chairman of the Central People’s Government, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, Honorary Chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Chairman of the People’s Republic of China, and Chairman of the National Defense Commission. After the start of “Cultural Revolution” in 1966, he was mistakenly criticized and deliberately falsely accused and cruelly persecuted by two counterrevolutionary cliques of Lin Biao and Jiang Qing. On November 12, 1969, he passed away in Kaifeng, Henan. In 1980, the Fifth Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Party restored his reputation. On November 24 this year, a matter of a hundred years’ worth of Comrade Liu Shaoqi’s birth anniversary, our magazine published three essays titled “The Revival of Liu Shao-chih in Shanghai,” “Comrade Shao Qi is with Us, and Comrade Liu Shao-ch’i Recalling Wang Guangzheng,” so as to cherish deep memory of his great achievements .
