In September, Fujitsu Limited introduced the PDS-1000 large-size monitor using a 53 cm full-color plasma display panel, the first of its kind in the world. The lightweight PDS-1000 is only 1/5 the thickness of a conventional CRT and has a 140 ° viewing angle (comparable to a CRT monitor) with a white peak brightness of 150 cd. Thanks to its 640 (H) x 480 (V) pixels, this monitor displays 260,000 colors with 64 grayscale levels by controlling RGB colors.
