素质教育是以全面提高公民科学文化、思想道德、劳动技能、身体心理等方面的素质,发展个性、培养能力、为根本目的的基础教育。相对于“应试教育”而言,素质教育更符合教育规律,是更高水平、更高层次、更高质量的教育。目前,教育要遵循新课程改革的教学观,明确教学目标的具体化、全面性,注重教学活动和学习方式,方式的多样化、学习的选择性;提倡自主、探索与合作的学习方式,真正使学生在教师指导下富有个性、主动地和创造性地学习;努力保证新课程教学目标的实现。
