冯友兰,字芝生,河南唐河人,著名哲学家,1924年获哥伦比亚大学博士学位,历任中州大学、广东大学、燕京大学教授,清华大学文学院院长兼哲学系主任,西南联大哲学系教授兼文学院院长,清华大学校务会议主席,北京大学哲学系教授,被誉为“现代新儒家”。其女宗璞,当代女作家,生在北京。幼承家学,就读清华大学附属成志小学。抗战爆发,随父赴昆明,就读西南联大附属中学。1945年回北京。1946年入南开大学外文系,1948年转入清华大学外文系,曾就职于中国文联、中国社会科学院外国文学研究所。本文系宗璞对生活中的父亲冯友兰的点滴回忆。
FENG You-lan, Zhisheng, Henan Tanghe, a famous philosopher, received a doctorate degree from Columbia University in 1924.
