Since the economic crisis of the 1930s, for the first time in 2008, the global financial crisis has provided new space for thought and material reasons for establishing a more progressive and inclusive global paradigm for development. Regrettably, however, because people are content with the feeling that the “neoliberal paradigm is dead,” the chances of rebuilding a new, transformative world that is both humane and democratic may have been lost. In fact, after the crisis, the common response of Western governments is to quickly save the financial system without hurking to protect people and communities. In view of this, the crisis may have extended the life of neo-liberalism.
