1998年7月7日,中共中央政治局常委、全国人大常委会委员长李鹏,来到吉林省,先后在四平、吉林、长春等市就村民委员会组织法修订草案、土地管理法修订草案、高等教育法草案进行立法调研,14日离长返京。人虽离开了春城,但委员长深入实际,联系群众的风范和关于进一步加强民主立法工作的一系列讲话,却深深地留在了吉林省各级人大代表和广大干部群众的心里。
On July 7, 1998, Li Peng, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, came to Jilin Province, successively drafting a revised draft of the Organic Law of the Villagers’ Committees in Siping, Jilin and Changchun, a draft revision of the Land Administration Law, Education Law Draft Legislative Investigation, leave to return to Beijing on the 14th. Although the people left the Spring City, the series of speeches by the chairman in-depth, the style of contacting with the masses and the work on further strengthening democratic legislation remained deeply rooted in the hearts of the people’s congresses at all levels in Jilin Province and the broad masses of cadres and the masses.
