棉蝗(Chondracris rosea De Geer)属直翅目蝗科,是危害木麻黄林的害虫之一。每年四月下旬起陆续孵化为幼蝻,经蜕皮六次以后,于8月中旬至7月下旬陆续羽化为成虫。雌虫体长56—80毫米,雄虫体长为48—52毫米,体色为黄绿色。去年8月,湛江市郊东简林场木麻黄林带严重发生该虫为害,应用3YJ—2型烟雾机和进口的 TAPA 烟雾机,以热雾和冷雾两种方式,喷洒马拉硫磷进行防治。共喷洒50％的马拉硫磷原药1,000斤,防治面积1,380亩(其中用3YJ—2型烟雾机喷药1,000亩,用进口 TAPA 烟
