1.Banks jn Britain英国有许多家银行:英伦银行(Bank of England)是英国的中央银行,负责执行政府的货币政策,并发行英国的纸币(bank notes)。纸币面额有￡100、￡50、￡20、￡10及￡5等5种。硬币(coins)则由皇家铸币局负责,有￡2、￡1、50p、20p、5p、2p、及1p 等几种。其他主要银行有:巴克莱银行(Barclays)、莱斯银行(Lloyds)、米兰银行(Midland)、国民西敏寺银行(National Westminster)及汇丰银行(HSBC—Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank ofCorporation);苏格兰银行(Bank of Scotland)及皇家苏格兰银行(Royal Bank of Scotland)。上述银行均为市民提供全面的银行服务。
