1991年初,各地纷纷反映,假麦迪霉素案屡屡发生,已严重威胁人民用药安全,造成很坏影响.据此,卫生部药政局于5月6日以电报发出查处假麦迪霉素的通知.通知下达后,各地药政药检人员对制售假麦迪霉素的不法分子进行查处.据各地报来的资料统计,至1991年底,已查获假麦迪霉素案43起,总价值70余万元.涉及18个省、自治区、直辖市.
