According to the planned project of the fourth phase of UNESCO IHP, the International Symposium on Sudden Flood in Arid and Semi-Arid Regions will be held on September 26-29, 1994 in Xi’an Institute of Hydraulic and Hydropower, Shaanxi Institute of Machinery. The symposium was jointly organized by the secretariat of IHP National Committee of China and Shaanxi Institute of Hydraulic and Hydropower, with the organizers of Hohai University, Nanjing Institute of Hydrology and Water Resources and Shaanxi Institute of Hydraulic and Hydropower.
