我与沈荫椿先生相识相知,已越十年。21世纪初,我在主编《中国茶花》杂志和《中国茶花文化》一书时,有幸结识了这位颇有传奇色彩的美籍华人学者。多年来,在晤谈、信件与电话交流中,在协助他查核中国古代历史资料的过程中,我们之间的同好友谊之情与日俱增。我遇到了一位良师益友。他不仅教给我丰富的花卉园艺知识,更在治学上为我树立了为弘扬中华文化奉献一生的榜样。而长期的交往,也使我真正认识了他耿直的为人。综观他的人生道路,应该说他最有理由悲观,也最有理由乐观。因为他曾遭遇过常人难以想象的磨难,也享受过获得巨大成就的喜悦。然而,他既不悲
I know each other with Mr. Shen Yin Chun, more than ten years. At the beginning of the 21st century, I was fortunate enough to get acquainted with the legendary Chinese-American scholar while editing The China Camellia Magazine and Chinese Camellia Culture. Over the years, during his talks, letters and telephone exchanges, his friendship with fellow-country friends has been on the increase during the process of assisting him in checking the ancient Chinese historical materials. I met a mentor. He not only taught me rich knowledge of flower and gardening, but also set an example for life in China for the dedication of Chinese culture. The long-term contacts, but also make me really understand his honest man. Looking at the path of his life, we should say that he has the most reason to be pessimistic and has the most reason to be optimistic. Because he had suffered unimaginable tribulation, but also enjoyed the joy of great achievements. However, he is neither sad nor sorry
