Five healthy adult human lymphocytes that contained micronucleated cells (PBMCs) after irradiation with a low dose (0.03-1.0 Gy) of Co (60Co) (MNC) and micronuclei (MN) dose-response relationship. The results showed that in the low dose range, the MNC rate and MN rate increased with the increase of irradiation dose, and fitted with a good fitted quadratic polynomial model. The model is suitable for single or short-term dose estimation of multiple external exposure and is expected to become a biological dosimeter for detecting low dose ionizing radiation. The results also show that the lowest dose that can be measured using MNC or MN rates is 0.05 Gy. When using the MN method to estimate low-dose exposure, attention should be paid to the effects of age and exposure to previous radiation, chemicals and drugs, and even smoking.
