上个世纪中叶,当帝国主义携鸦片宗教与坚船利炮来叩响中国封闭千年的古老沉重、尘土弥漫的国门时,国人的第一个举动是在笨重的国门后面再顶上一根粗大的圆木。但这并不能阻挡已有几百年现代文明发展历史的帝国主义列强向中国迈进的脚步,中国的国门连同后面那根圆木一起被撞得粉碎。于是,中国人的天朝永固的美梦被震醒了,包在中国人外面的自信、自负、唯我独尊的炫丽的肥皂泡破了,中国人第一次直面亘古未遇的近代西方资本主义列强的挑战。在严酷的事实面前,中国人开始痛苦地思考敌我胜败的原因。一部分先进的中国人开始睁开眼睛看世界,他们发现了从闯入的外族人身上折射出的我们民族的某些积弊。他们开始正视列强的存在,开始在与西方民族的对比中重新认识本国的国民。
In the middle of the last century, when the imperialists brought opium religions and gunboats to ring the ancient, heavy, dusty country where China closed the millennium, the first move of the Chinese people was to lay a thick Round logs. However, this will not stop the imperialist powers that have enjoyed centuries of development history of modern civilization from stepping forward to China. The country of China is smashed together with the other round logs. As a result, the Chinese dream of perpetual beauty was awakened. The self-confidence and conceit outside the Chinese people dazzled the dazzling soap bubbles of the only one I admire. For the first time, the Chinese were confronting the powers of the modern Western capitalism that have never been encountered before challenge. In the face of harsh facts, the Chinese began to painfully think of the reasons for their victories and failures. Some advanced Chinese began to open their eyes to see the world. They found out some of the disadvantages of our nation reflected in the invaded aliens. They began to confront the existence of powers and started to re-understand their own nationals in contrast with the Western nations.
