We investigated the morphological changes of motor-endplate of rats during skeletal muscle disuse atrophy and natural or exercise rehabilitation. Qualitative and quantitative analysis indicated that with the atrophy of skeletal muscle, a series of changes appeared in nerve ending, the perimeter and maximum diameter of motor-endplate decreased. Endurance exercise may help the rehabilitation of skeletal muscle, stimulating the recovery of perimeter and maximum diameter of motorendplate and the budding of nerve ending. A suitable stimulation to local nerve system and endplate could reduce the atrophy of muscle during disuse.
