著名文学评论巨擘夏志清于2013年12月29日在纽约逝世,享年92岁。夏志清教授,江苏吴县人,1921年2月18日生于上海浦东,1942年自沪江大学英文系毕业,1946年9月随长兄夏济安至北京大学担任助教,醉心西欧古典文学,因研究布莱克档案(William Blake Archive)的论文脱颖而出,取得留美奖学金,至耶鲁大学攻读英文硕士、博士。后来任教于多所著名大学,最后在纽约哥伦比亚大学任教至退休。夏志清在纽约州立大学任
Xia Zhiqing, a famous literary critic, died in New York on December 29, 2013, at the age of 92. Professor Xia Zhiqing, Wu County, Jiangsu Province, was born in Pudong, Shanghai on February 18, 1921. He graduated from the Department of English of Shanghai University in 1942. In September 1946, with his elder brother Xia Jian to Peking University as an assistant professor, The paper (William Blake Archive) broke the paper, made a scholarship to the United States, Yale University to study English master, Ph.D. Later, he taught at many famous universities and finally retired at Columbia University in New York.
