马克思主义文学批评既不是社会历史批评,也不是美学史学批评,而是自成体系的文学批评。马克思主义文学批评既有马克思主义哲学世界观作理论指导,又有丰富的批评实践作经验支撑,同时它还以开放的姿态包容有社会历史批评、政治批评、意识形态批评、美学批评等多种批评模式,比起其他的批评,马克思主义文学批评的外延和内涵要宽广深刻得多。将马克思主义文学批评看作一个体系,有着重要的意义。
Marxist literary criticism is neither a critic of social history nor a critic of aesthetic history, but a self-contained literary criticism.
